Harris (you can see the little logo on one of the pictures) GaAs FET Driver amplifier 6GHz This unit seems to be a very powerful amplifier, it has a variable attenuator input and the little trimpot at the top controls the bias point of the internal transistors. -It was tested under the following conditions VCC=+10V (consuming about 500mA) Now we are able to get from 10 to 40 dB of gain, the input signal was a 6.5 GHz at -40dBm (there was a 10dB attenuator at the input of the amplfiier just for safety) and we adjusted the trimpot until we got 20dB of gain. The attenuator works fine from -3 to -10VDC, you have a range of about 30 dB. As any GaAs FET amplifier you must apply -VG first before any other power supply. The other pictures show the inner circuitry ot the amplifier. You can see it is beautifully built using allumina substrates and gold metallization. YOU WILL RECEIVE AN UNOPENED UNIT.
