3 HP HEDS-5701 Incremental Rotary Encoders * Resolution: 256 CPR (1024 PPR in quadrature) * Power Input: 5 Volts DC @ <50 mA * Channels: Two channel Output (A, B) * Output: 5 Volt TTL digital step (digital squarewave) * Output: 2-Channel TTL Output * Shaft: 1/4" output shaft (no flat) * Static Drag Option: No (free spinning) In their current form, the shafts are supported by a long sleeved brass bushings for rotational speeds up to 2000 RPM. However, these units are made to be disassembled and the components used individually. The shafts and bushing can be easily removed to make a 1/4" thru-shaft encoder capable of running at the max count rate of the reader head (100 kHz or 5859 RPM for this model). The reader heads and discs can also be completely removed from the housing to be used in a different housing entirely. The 9100 series heads were specifically built to be very forgiving with mounting or alignment errors. I have used these as high speed thru hole encoders many times. Contact me for info. These particular encoders are brand new in the box. I have hundreds of these available. I have been saving these for my own projects, but have way more than I will ever be able to use. These do not come with connectors or flying leads. The pins are plated for soldering or connectors and leads can be purchased through Digikey, US Digital, Avago, or a variety of other suppliers.
