The reception on shortwave is amazing for such a compact unit (it really brings in the shortwave stations, especially between 9.5 and 10 MHz in the evening hours) and the direct entry keypad makes it easy to enter a frequency. 30 memories store your favorite stations for quick recall. A complete accessory package is included. This is a beautiful radio with its front case composed of a brushed aluminum alloy and would make a great gift but after seeing it you will want one for yourself too. The physical size is only 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 x 3/4" which makes it the smallest PLL digital shortwave radio in the world. Its weight is less than 7 ounces with two alkaline batteries installed and it easily fits in a shirt pocket. The built in digital clock and alarm would great for the world traveler. The KA105 receives FM in stereo from 87.5 to 108 MHz, AM Medium Wave from 520 to 1620 KHz and Shortwave from 5.95-15.60 MHz. The sound quality is very good and reception sensitivity is amazing and combined with the many convenience features makes it a tremendous value. This USA version incorporates the proper 10 kHz channel spacing for the Medium Wave band as expected in the USA. The deluxe carrying strap has an ingenious tiny tilt stand attached that clips onto a rear slot made for it and allows the radio to be used in a tilted fashion on your desk. This radio even has an external antenna jack that can be used with the included accessory wire to improve the reception of shortwave or FM signals over the high quality stainless steel built in whip antenna. The radio is a new design concept and has many convenience and ergonomic touches including a battery cover that stays on when changing batteries. A display light is also included. The complete package includes the KA105 world band radio, stereo ear buds, an external wire antenna, carrying case, USA 110 volt AC adapter, hand strap, English manual and a Warranty card all in the retail packaging box.
