The Alinco DJ-296 offers a user-friendly method of beginning to explore the 220 MHz Band. I bought this unit new approximately 2 years ago, and it has seen minimal usage. Standard features include 160 channels, CTCSS and DCS encode/decode, and a supposed mosquito repel function (makes a high pitched noise, California mosquitoes did not mind the noise and hung around though!). Details:
* The radio is operationally 10/10. It's been a pleasure to own.
* The cosmetic condition of the radio is very good, with very light scratches across the LCD Display.
* Ni-MH battery pack EBP-50N (original battery, working as of last usage but no guarantee)
* standard belt clip (attached)
* standard hand strap (attached)
* Aftermarket "Rubber Duck" Antenna
* A NMO mount 1/4 whip cut to 222 MHz
I had a high level of success using this radio mobile, and enjoyed the flexibility of having the extra band. Unfortunately, my travels have taken me to an area that does not make much use of the band. I am thinning out my radio inventory as a result.
