The CSL4 offers the same combination of active and passive filtering as the highly rated ASL5 external filter, but is designed to be fitted inside a receiver connecting in line with the feed to the volume control. The CW bandwidth is approx. 300Hz at -6dB, and the sharp SSB rolloff means that unwanted signals are over 50dB down at around 3.3kHz (better than a crystal filter!). It makes a very noticeable reduction in interference and unwanted noise listening becomes so much more pleasant! The CSL4 requires a 12 to 14V DC supply and makes a superb accessory for DC2000, DXR20, TRF3 or any other home-brew receiver project.
