Unit is almost identical to RS product code 422-5556 which retails at £70.60[+the vat for us mortals!] In the following description I have tried give some idea of the potential applications for the device and it's ease of installation. However the following is not intended as a precise technical guide and may contain some minor errors. It should definitely not be used as a guide to installation. All necessary information is carried on the side of the unit itself and in a comprehensive instruction leaflet. This is a multi-application device designed for applications where a signal or switching are required in response to variations in single phase line voltage. Especially suited to automatic power changeover systems eg. Switching power automatically over to or from battery back-up/generator. Also can be used in assembling an NVR [No-voltage release] safety system for tools and motors. Voltage measurement range can be adjusted from 30...300V by selecting terminal B2 or from 50...500V by selecting terminal B3. The device is configured such that both relays energise after a specific time delay [t] when the voltage [across terminals Bx & C] rises above or falls below a specified threshold. Hysteresis is incorporated and can be adjusted from below 5% to above 30%. This means that the relay holds until the voltage level falls back to within an adjustable percentage of the original threshold value. The timer and the hysteresis both allow controlled stable and functional response to over/undervoltage events. All specific technical details are described on the side of the relay in the form of a graphical representation of the effect of the timer functions, hysteresis for both under-voltage and over-voltage measurement.
