This item was manufactured in 1988-1989 and the warranty expired on this item in 1990. It was military issued but was sent to the DRMO in 2006. When we recieved this item it still had the battery in a factory sealed bag. The battery has since been removed from the bag and we have tested this item to make sure it functions properly. They have cases twice as thick as any other DMM we build. They are totally sealed, waterproof to 3 feet (one meter) of water for one hour, tough enough to withstand contaminants, chemicals, accidental drops and severe electrical overloads.
