Steady rest jaws for south bend 9 10 lathe follower jaw

Geneva Sanders is presenting: Steady rest jaws for south bend 9 10 lathe follower jaw
One set of three steady rest jaws machined from solid billet hard brass. These jaws will fit South Bend's 9" and 10" regular steady rest. (also will fit SB regular follower rest). This brass has excellent strength, abrasion resistance and hardness, and is designed for use in extreme high load and high pressure bearing surfaces, such as the force exerted on the jaws of a steady rest.
Please check the following dimensions to determine fitment.
7/16" thick X 7/8" wide X 2 9/16" long, and slotted for 5/16" screw.
These jaws will replace the old cast iron jaws (cast iron jaw # PT128NR1)
TIP: When you adjust the steady rest jaws, only bring each jaw into very light contact with the workpiece. Adjust them in till they just touch the part. Do not squeeze the work with the jaws. Too much pressure will shorten the jaw's useful life, create excessive heat and cause wear marks on the workpiece.
TIP: Always use some type of extreme pressure lubricant between the face of the jaws and the workpiece. Keep a close eye on the lube while you are working because it has a tendancy to work its way out from the contact point. Use a one inch chip brush or popsicle stick to apply more lube. Never use your finger to apply the lube.
