This is a top of the line DSO Tek made in the mid to late 90s, cost around $25000 new, which addressed & corrected a longstanding shortcoming of digital versus analog, namely that they spend so much of their time massaging data that they miss out on capturing new data, especially if rare or elusive. On this model they called the fix INSTAVU, and basically Tek dedicated different processors to different tasks, so that capturing new stuff won't be missed by taking 2nd place to digesting the previous data... Finally a DSO that can do what (my specialty, analog) 2467B and 2465B can, and of course, also store! This '500MHz' scope uses 2Gigasamples/sec samplers (connects dots every half nanosecond). It displays each channel's trace in a different color to avoid trace confusion. The sensitivity and sweep ranges are similar to that of a 2467B (2mV/div and 500pS/div). It puts to shame all other DSOs I have worked with/on before, such as the 2440, of which I have 1 listed now too.
This specimen, serial B012149, includes options 5 (flexi-format including hdtv video triggering), 13 (RS232 & Centronics printer interfaces in addition to GPIB and VGA), 1F (deep memory?), 2F (extended math FFT, integration, differentiation). The only good photo I managed to take was outdoors (power off). Sorry the 2 indoor (power on self tests passed and 4channel 4 color 1Vpp 1KHz) photos came out blurry, but scope is in EXCELLENT condition. Besides passing self-tests, it also passes all 4 parts of signal path compensation tests.Since this scope is outside my 2465B/2467B specialty, I am NOT offering my usual services (calibration , guaranty, manual, probes) with it, but it appears to be in cal and working correctly from my tests with my TG501, PG506, SG503, and SG504 cal sources.

I shall include a manual on CDrom that covers similar models and may be close enough for initial use & familiarization. I do not have any P6139A probes... closest I have are P6137 (available separately).
Compared to a newer & smaller TDS3054/B, which costs around $10000, this TDS754A has far more capablities. While TDS3054/B can run on battery & has a variable persistence mode that tries address the lack of gray-scaling in DSOs, the fluffy TDS305/B does not have the ever vigilent constantly capturing feature InstaVu, or the memory depth, or the math capability.
