Camille Shaffer is presenting: Leica gps SR9500 sensor && CR344 controller, nice deal
This set was put out of service during instrument upgrading and was noted to be functional at that time.
The Leica SR9500 is a 12-channel L1/L2 GPS receiver that provides full-wavelength carrier-phase P-code measurements on both frequencies, even when Anti-Spoofing (A/S) is engaged. The system uses Leica's patented tracking techniques to provide exceptional reliability and quality of data with very low latency
Sensor powers up and can track up to 12 simultaneous L1 and L2 frequency satellites. This is a professional high precision dual frequency survey grade unit, it IS NOT a toy...

Listed below are some technical specifications of this receiver obtained from documentation that I had on-hand:
Note: Specifications are the same as for the SR399 unit except the SR9500 can track more satellites and requires an external L1/L2 AT302 or similar dual frequency antenna.
Satellite Reception: Dual frequency
Receiver Channels: 12-L1 continuous tracking, 12-L2 continuous tracking
L1 channels: Carrier phase, P1 code, C/A code
L2 channels: Carrier phase, P2 code
L1 carrier tracking A/S on or off: Reconstructed carrier phase via C/A code
L2 carrier tracking A/S off: Reconstructed carrier phase via P2 code
L2 carrier tracking A/S on: Switches automatically to patented P code-aided technique providing full L2 reconstructed carrier phase
L1 code measurements A/S off: Carrier phase smoothed code measurements, C/A code narrow correlation, P1 code
L1 code measurements A/S on: Carrier phase smoothed code measurements, C/A code narrow correlation, Patented P1 code-aided code
L2 code measurements A/S off: Carrier phase smoothed code measurements, P2 code
L2 code measurements A/S on: Carrier phase smoothed code measurements, Patented P2 code-aided code
Independent measurements: Fully independent carrier phase and code measurements on L1 and L2 with A/S on or off
Satellites tracked: Up to 12 simultaneously on L1 and L2
Time to first phase measurement after switching on: Typically less than 60 seconds
Data collection interval: Selectable, 1 to 60 seconds via Controller
Cut off angle: Selectable via Controller
Satellite health and L2 tracking criteria: Automatically acquired, but with user override capability via Controller
Weight (SR9500 only): 2.6kg (5.7lb)
AT302 External Antenna for SR9500: Microstrip L1/L2 antenna with built in groundplane
Carrier-phase measurement precision, A/S on or off:
Differential-Phase accuracy, A/S on or off:
Nominal baseline accuracy for differential-phase in static mode: 5mm + 1ppm (rms)
Code-measurement precision, A/S on or off:
Differential-code accuracy, A/S on or off:
Nominal baseline accuracy for differential code: 30 to 50 cm (rms)

I recently replaced all 3 CR344 connector snap covers as these tend to get broken during normal wear and tear. Controller keypad looks virtually new, very little if any wear present on the rubber keypad faces. Display is bright and highly legible, no bad characters or screen burn areas.
These System 300 components have obviously seen their share of work but they do appear to have been well cared for.
The sensor unit is meant to be configured and/or steered with a companion Leica CR244 or CR344 controller which was part of the original System 300.
The Sensor has two Lemo style 5-pin port connections labeled as PWR/DATA 1 and PWR/DATA 2. The controller can be hooked up to either port and this has been done to verify the proper operation of both ports. These ports are located on the side of the unit. (see photos). The same checkout has been done on the controller ports 1 and 2 which are also 5 pin PWR/DATA type connections. Controller port 3 is a Lemo style 8-pin port which can be used for optional equipment such as a pacific crest radio modem. The antenna connector is a threaded TNC type and is labeled ANT.
A CD which contains all of the relevant manuals for the System 300 in .pdf format will also be included with this unit.
Unit appears to function just fine, but I am not a surveyor, I just repair survey equipment. Cosmetically both units are in much better than average overall condition, a few scuffs here and there on the sensor and controller body, all connectors are in excellent condition, no pitting or corrosion whatsoever.
I have setup this unit and collected static reference data for several days now from a fixed location. Data files have been downloaded to prove this functions correctly which it does. Everything looks just fine with this receiver and controller.
Note that the CR344 does have the REALTIME (L1/L2) firmware already installed !!!
