Juliet Gardner is presenting: Palstar B4000C 4:1 current balun
It features a die-cast aluminum case for all weather indoor/outdoor usage. Inside the alunimum case are steatite insulators with a large 3.25" Ferrite core with Teflon sleeved 12 ga. wire and rated up to 4kW plus.
There are lots of articles about balun's.
1 - Operation near fundamental resonance - A Single Band Loop:
When a Horizontal Full-Wave Loop is operated near resonance on the full-wavelength band a 4:1 balun works very well. Using good-quality 50-ohm coaxial cable to the shack from the balun, SWR at resonance will normally be below 1.5:1. An external antenna tuner will generally not be required; the radio's internal tuner can be used if needed.
They deliver the power to your antenna with minimum loss and perform a perfect transition from balanced to unbalanced. This results in the strongest signal your antenna’s capable of producing with the lowest SWR under given conditions.
1.8 – 30 MHz operating range to cover popular amateur bands.
Handles rated power with minimal energy loss so there is no thermal related failure.
Provides a great match between the coax impedance and the antenna impedance for the lowest SWR.
Performs at the highest levels of efficiency so there is little signal loss in both transmit or receive applications.
