BUFF ORPINGTONS - 6+ HATCHING EGGS - HUGE BIRDS
Orpingtons were developed in England at the town of Orpington in County Kent during the 1880s and were brought to America in the 1890s. The Buff Orpington was accepted into the American Poultry Association Standard in 1902. In my opinion much has been lost of this magnificent bird when you compare your average hatchery bird to a true to type Orpington. They should be a very large bird to start with the appearence of added size due to their feathering. Todays birds have been bred for egg production and not type.
The feathering of the Orpington allows them to endure cold temperatures better than some other breeds. These calm birds make a great addition to the coop. Hens exhibit broodiness and generally make good mothers. They are a good general use fowl, hens lay a good sized brown egg.
APA Standard Weights are: Cock-10 pounds; hen-8 pounds; cockerel8-1/2 pounds; pullet-7 pounds.
Due to the fragile and time sensitive nature of the item, ALL egg sales are final.
I do my very best to provide you with the freshest hatching eggs possible. I pack them extremely well and send them in a timely fashion. I have great success at home hatching eggs, but cannot guarantee your individual success. There are too many outside factors involved that are completely out of my hands.
