Gabriela Valdez is presenting: Radiodetection RD4000 utility cable locator
The Radiodetection RD4000 cable and pipe locator is widely seen as the industry standard, with the highest locate performance, multiple locate modes and simplicity of use. Whether locating utilities and marking for construction, mapping or fault finding. The RD4000 series is the product against which all others are measured.
RD4000 delivers best in class location:
Highest performance digital Receiver even in the presence of interference
Fast, clear, positive response even in congested areas
Multiple active frequencies and modes provides sophisticated location tools
Peak, null and single antenna modes
Position and depth measurement
Current measurement to identify individual networks
Real Sound; audible perception of locating dynamics
High output Transmitters to locate deep utilities and handle complex locates
Fault finding and cable and pipe integrity measurement
Current direction – RD patented
MRx option for simultaneous locate of utility marker balls
Within the worldwide construction industry buried utilities represent a major hazard. Excavations that are not properly planned can cause damage to pipes or cables, often resulting in costly repairs, delays and, in some instances, personal injury. Collateral damage and injury can be avoided by using best practices and tools.
At the heart of the RD4000 is a powerful digital measurement and processing engine that is second to none. Patented signal processing algorithms provide dramatic performance, even when locating on small signals in the noisiest of areas. RD4000 delivers accurate repeatable location even in difficult circumstances.
RD4000 models are available to address the specific needs of various sectors. Increasingly, more and more companies are outsourcing mark before dig and utility mapping. Recognising that there is no single location mode or frequency guaranteed to locate a given pipe or cable, RD4000 models are available with options to optimise the location of many utilities. Whatever the location requirement there is a RD4000 solution.
Repeatability and ease of use is delivered through the ergonomic design and features of the RD4000. A large, clear, automatically back-lit LCD display and a highly responsive gain paddle make the RD4000 a joy to use that others fail to match. It is through attention to detail that Radiodetection have delivered a powerful and sophisticated tool that is simple to use.
The RD4000 family is supported by a wide range of accessories, such as for cable and pipe fault-finding, individual cable location from a bundle and optimised signal generation. End–users can quickly and repeatably locate individual cables and pipes and identify any sheath or coating defects.
My listing with actual pictures of unit for sale !
Pictures speak louder than words so I took a shot of every frequency. There are a couple small scratches in the plastic screen on the right side as you can see in the pictures. No cracks, just scratches. Does not affect operation or view of screen, just scratches. Overall condition is quite nice for a used locator as you can see in the pictures. According to the numbers at start-up, I believe this was manufactured 02/2005
I just tested this today and it is right on the money ! This is the first RD 4000 I have had in my shop and I am very impressed with this locator. Very easy to use and very accurate. I am extremely impressed with the ability of the passive locating in the power and radio modes. ( for those of you who don't know, passive is locating with the receiver alone, no transmitter direct connected ). I located my power and telephone to my house, hit the depth button and it was right on. I have located these exact lines at least a hundred times before, using direct connect, testing other locators, and I know exactly where they are and how deep.
It comes with only what is in the pictures. I do not have an RD bag but I am sure I can come up with some kind of protective case.
