“SAMPLE” will not appear on your print, it is only on the scanned image.
This INTERNATIONAL TD-24 CRAWLER EQUIPPED WITH BUCYRUS-ERIE ANGLE DOZER AND ISAACSON REAR WINCH is building roads in the rugged terrain of Montana’s Lolo National Forest. Exact date is unknown, but believed to be 1947-1948.
Reverse side is another print of a TD-24 cable bulldozer pushing coal in a Somerset, MA yard.
Early crawlers, or “track-laying machines” as they were often called, originated with Holt and Best in 1904 and 1913 respectively, followed by Cletrac in 1916 and International Harvester around 1924, with the McCormick-Deering 10-20 and 15-30 crawlers. The diesel powered TD Series was introduced in 1932, with TD-24 production beginning in 1947. The TD-24 weighed nearly 2 tons more than the competing Cat D-8, and had more than 5,000-lbs. more drawbar pull. Finally in 1959 the TD-25 replaced the TD-24.
This is a print carefully removed from a book on vintage crawlers, not a copy, printed on good quality paper. The image is clear, showing a good deal of detail, as a print in a good quality book should be. All edges are good, no rips, no marks, no mildew. This print is in mint, like new condition.
