This is a RECENTLY purchased, CUSTOM-MADE audio filter, specifically designed for catching hard to hear longwave Non-Directional Beacons. This filter was custom made for me by Steve Ratzlaff (a pillar of the NDB DXing community, and an expert in DXing longwave beacons). It still in brand-new condition and has been hardly used! I will be selling a bunch of my NDB DXing equipment in the future, since I have moved on to other hobbies. This is the first item that I have gotten around to taking pictures of. It comes complete with custom made cord for connection to a 12vdc power supply. A fully regulated power supply is recomended. There are no marks or any other cosmetic issues with it at all. Of course, it works perfectly (and very well, in fact, on MW/LW). The original cost of this very cool filter was $60.00 (which is what I paid for it) The audio filter was made so levels will be about the same between Bypass and Filter position, using JRC ST-3 Mono headphones. The unit was designed to work with mono headphones. This special filter was built around a 600Hz center frequency (cw pitch). It is probably the best filter you can get for DXing NDBs.
