Pharmaceutical grade Reverse Osmosis machine. Millipore ZFROL4281, S/N F9JK644450. Surplus from Glaxo. 21 GPM, 480V 3 phase. Includes filter cartridges and 2 spare pumps. There are four element housings, each 78-1/4" long (not including the end caps) and 4" inside diameter. We have 12 elements, each about 25" long with flat ends, so it looks like each housing holds 3 elements. Overall, the unit is 104" wide, 23" deep, and 70" tall.
I recall that the folks at Millipore said this unit was probably used as a polishing unit (the final stage in a two stage system). It seems the folks at Glaxo wanted their water really, really, really pure. Nevertheless, they said this unit would be perfectly suited to normal single stage use. The reason I bring this up is that under normal use you might find the capacity is somewhat less than the 21 GPM I quoted in the description.
Note that this is a high-pressure RO machine making it capable of being used with liquids other than water (assuming you know what you are doing). The rated head on the pumps is 173m. (That's about 246 psi.) The maximum pressure rating for each pump is 80 bars. (That's about 1100 psi.) Hence, the pumps were probably connected in series yielding an operating pressure of about 490 psi. Enough of the piping has been disconnected (in order to remove the cartridges) that I would need to spend some time puzzling out the piping to figure out whether the pumps were (a) arranged in series, (b) arranged in parallel, or (c) some other arrangement for staged or cascaded RO. I expect they were arranged in series because the two pumps are mounted pointing in opposite directions.
In all cases, we will try to make you happy to have done business with us. Feel free to contact us if your purchase isn’t what you expected. We’ll try to set it right.
