This is the Digitally Refreshed RF Activity / IF Spectrum Display for the Watkins-Johnson WJ 8969B Microwave Receive System. This unit is very similar to the standard WJ 8969 DRD, with the exception of the method of transmitting the digital control data to the tuner. Since the WJ-8969B and C receivers are single-chassis receivers, with the tuner and demodulator in the same housing, the digital control for the system is completely internal. However, the WJ-8969 B and C receivers have a coaxial input for data from the WJ-8969B/DRD. Thus, the WJ-8969B/DRD can be connected directly to these receivers, and can control the RF Search Mode. A search range is set by the WJ-8969/DRD, and the RF activity (as received by the WJ-8969B receiver) within that search range is displayed on the DRD's CRT. When a signal of interest is detected, a cursor is superimposed on that signal, the system is taken out of the Sweep Mode, and the receiver then automatically tunes to the cursor frequency. In this mode, the CRT shows the spectrum around the received frequency.
The unit is in good condition. Please note that the screen is not crumpled, as it appears to be in the pictures. This has been caused by multiple backlight reflections.
Frequency Span: 40 MHz, 20 MHz, 10 MHz, 50 kHz
Resolution Bandwidth: 50 kHz, 1 MHz
Input Attenuation: 0 to 60 dB; in 10 dB Steps.
Minimum Signal (at 0 dB Attenuation): -110 dBm
With the exception of observing Marker movement when the tuning knob is turned, I cannot test the RF Activity function. The Marker can be tuned from 500 MHz to 20 GHz, and moves from the left side of the screen (500 MHz) to the right side of the screen (20 GHz).
The unit comes with a power cable. Power requirements are 115 / 230 VAC, 50 to 400 Hz.
Sorry, I don't have a manual for it.
