Floor is 1/2" mesh which allows droppings to pass through easily. For quail chicks especially, it is recommended to use paper towels on top of the wire mesh for the first 4-7 days. Brooder is universal as each side panel comes with an adjustable gate to regulate openings for chick type and age, to allow them access to feed and water. Baby quail require the use ofseparate- not included feeders and waterers for the first three weeks. Drop pans are easily removed for cleaning and are made of light weight aluminum.
