It is economical, provides accurate data recording and reproduction and long-term data storage. The 3968A provides 8 channels of FM or direct recording on a 1/4 inch tape. The unit has a built-in AC/DC calibrator to simplify the set up of input and output levels. Utilizes standard 7 inch reel and delivers tape speeds of 15, 7 1/2, 3 3/4, 1 7/8, 15/16, 15/32 inches per second.
