For the collector of great American industrial age electro-mechanical ingenuity.
This Simplex model R83 bell programmer would have been used to ring bells in a school for class changes. It was capable of having three different schedules. As the step-mechanism clock clicked off the time, it would advance the bead chains one bead per minute. By crimping a “ball” around one or more of the 1440 beads on the schedule chain, it would trigger an external bell at that given time.
