This tuning unit is for the GP-7 aircraft transmitter from the WWII era. It is type CAY-47153A for frequency range E which is 4525 to 6500 kc. The tuning unit is wired as a Master Oscillator-Power Amplifier (MOPA). It includes antenna coupling and tuning adjustments. The oscillator appears to be Hartley type. The unit is in excellent shape with beautifully clean components inside which include variable capacitors, tapped and variable inductors, mica capacitors, gear drives, tuning position locks and standoff insulators. It is manufactured by Westinghouse.
