Short Wave 10 Bands Receiver Model GEN 1494A This is 10 band receiver MONTGOMERY WARD AIRLINE GEN 1494A with TWINs TUNNING SECTION. It has separate bands switches and separate tunning knobs. The receiver works from 6 volts, 4x size "D" batteries as well as from AC 120 V 60Hz with consumption 7 watts ***MB 1,6- 4,5MHZ (120, 90, 75m) ***SW1 12MHZ-26MHz (60,49,41,31,25m) *****AIR 108MHz-137MHz (airline traffic) *****PB2 148MHz-175MHz (+weather channel) It has tunning control indicator and batteries condition meter. The short wave has also fine tunning and squelch control. The 120 volts power source is built in. Size; 13 1/2"x 9 1/2" and handle 4 1/2" The radio works very well an all bands and is all original. Compared to the similar receivers from Panasonic and Sony surprisingly this radio has much better reception and sound is clear (excluding some noise from volume control, the track is a little wear out and make noise, best way will be changing the potentiometer for new one for few dollars). Other controls works well. Overall is very nice condition, The battery compartment is very clean and free of corrosion. The telescopic antenna is straight.
