"The Best of Tractor Talk: Gas Tractors" Published 2002 by Reiman Publications. This booklet contains photos and stories of restored tractors plus lots of facts and information about each tractor. With the introduction of the gas tractor at the beginning of the 20th century, the days of horses and steam power were numbered. Horses required a lot of upkeep and steam power was labor intensive and sometimes dangerous. The gas tractor ushered in a new and welcomed era in farming. Even some steam manufacturers worked secretly on gas models of their own. By 1907, just 600 gas tractors were in use across the U.S. But in 1909 alone, 2,000 units were sold. By 1911, production could not keep up with demand and 7,000 tractors were sold that year. Compiled by the editors of "Farm & Ranch Living Magazine". The many tractors included are: Rumely OilPull L 15/25, Huber Super Four 15/30, Flour City 40/70, Waterloo Boy R 12/24, Little Bull, Aultman-Taylor 30/60, Avery 40/80, Wallis Bear, Minneapolis 35/70, Case 20/40, Russell Model C 20/40, Hart-Parr "Crop Maker" 12/27, 1908 International Harvester, McDonald Imperial EB 25/30, IHC Model C "One-Cylinder". This 32 page, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" booklet is in excellent, new condition.
