Construction Cost & Material Estimator Construction Labor & Material Estimating As a retired residential contractor, I still seek an estimating software that is inexpensive, easy to use and does what I want it to do. While in business for over 20 years I developed a spreadsheet through Excel that worked better than all the thousands of dollars of programs I purchased. Take a peek I think you will like it. Easily customize your cost data to suit your local conditions . When you start you type in square footage and alot of the work is already done. You go through it as if you were building the home. When you are done the end result is a materials list, cost of contract and a contractors afidavit. All you have to do is enter yourself in the aproprate location and your subs, select print and your ready for the title company. On the labor tab you add in what margin of profit you want no one see's a thing. It also adds 21 % onto material to give profit and waste all in one step. This can be changed but it has been pretty much standard forever. Best thing is that you can print a copy for your client all they see is numbers and a total they never see markup.
