This Vintage Zenith Radio Dipole Center Insulator found its' way into my life back in the late 1950's. That was when I built my first short wave receiver and needed a good antenna for it. This piece came to me from the catalog of Allied Radio in Chicago, Illinois, the forebearers of what is now... Radio Shack! I was but a kid in high school and I saved up my money for the radio parts and also this Dipole Center Insulator. It served me well and can do so for you as well.
You can see from the photo above the physical measurement from end to end, which is three (3) inches. Underneath, the aluminum disk is 1.5 inches across. I made this disk (way back when) to protect the connections for the lead-in as it connected, inside this Vintage Dipole Center Insulator, to each half of the dipole antenna.
I'm no longer "doing radio" and this Vintage Dipole Center Insulator is looking for a Good Home! Won't you give it one?
