One grooved side has mm & 1/2 mm graduations The opposite side has mm & 1/2 mm graduations This scale has a shiny glossy finish This item is brand new and never used. I received this item in a boxed lot with other similiar scales. They were stored unprotected and may have a few minor scratches from rubbing against one another.
