1" X 8" Grade 8 USS Coarse Thread Hex Head Bolt
Grade 8 bolts are considered some of the most durable and reliable available on the market. They are comprised of carbon alloy steel which gives them a high ksi rating.
Zinc or cadmium plated grade 8 bolts are able to resist corrosion.
The factor that makes a grade 8 bolt different from a lower grade bolt is preload strength. Higher grade materials, such as carbon alloy steel, allow for greater torque strength in the threads of the bolt. The preload, or thread tension in a fastener is higher when the type of steel being used is grade 8 in quality.
Grade 8 bolts are most useful for mechanical applications where high stress and strong load bearing pressures are a major factor.
One thing to consider is that it's usually a safe bet to go with the highest grade of bolt you can. Manufacturers may recommend a lower grade, but it never hurts to go with higher quality materials. The worst thing that can happen is you paid a little more for the quality.
This is part some inventory I acquired Last Year from a Distressed Service Supply Company. They only carried Top Shelf Products. Their loss is our gain.
I don't know exactly what these are worth but I priced them well below actual cost using their old price sheets. If the price looks wrong, make me an offer.
