Smart Tracker, is a GPS tiny track encoder which, when connected to a GPS and a radio, will transmit its location at an adjustable rate. Smart Tracker is a construction project providing an inexpensive way to build a mobile tracker without the need for a full TNC. Smart Tracker is configured by connecting to a computer's serial port, and running a simple configuration tool which allows setting of all user options. Once you put together your Smart Tracker and connect it to your radio and GPS you will be able to take part in APRS (Automatic Position Reporting System). The Smart Tracker will take data from your GPS, key your radio, and send the Data over the Radio. Once digipeaters (Digital Repeaters) receive your signal it will be retransmitted over large distances, and you will even be able to track yourself on: The Smart Tracker is a simple inexpensive project that's fun and easy to do.
