This is also known as Constantan, Cuprothal, Alloy 294, Cuprothal 294, Nico, MWS 294, Cupron, Copel, Alloy 45, Neutrology, Advance, CuNi 102, Cu-Ni 244, and Konstantan Wire diameter is .600 mm, or .024", or about 22.5 AWG Net weight is 2.93 kg (6.44 lb), and the length is approximately 1100 meters (3600 feet) This wire is known for its constant resistance over a wide temperature range (hence the name) Often used to demonstrate Ohm's Law Also widely used in strain gages and thermocouples Good for making heating elements, rocket igniters, custom power resistors, or anything requiring excellent corrosion resistance, such as jewelry or chemical resistant equipment Pair it with an iron(steel) wire and you will have a Type J thermocouple, pair it with a copper wire and you will have a Type T thermocouple. .
