Makes watering poultry easy. I bought these because I needed them myself and use them regularly. They retail for more than $40 each (which is why I bought them, as that is too much to pay!)
I got these from a poultry house that was going out of business. They were only used for a few seasons and are in good condition. They have been cleaned and I have included instructions. I have washed these waterers well, but they will have small areas of discoloration, some dark stains and some batches of hard water stains, but the chickens won’t care.
Uses a bucket or low pressure water line to fill. To use for pastured poultry, you will need a 5-gallon white bucket (not included). Simply drill a small hole in the bucket, insert the black tube and you are good to go.
* Made of rugged, high impact polypropylene for durability
* Features an independently suspended, ballast bottle. You must fill with water or sand. Depth of water trough is adjustable
* Smooth, seamless construction permits no area of rust, corrosion, pitting, or bacteria accumulation
* Use from day-old to grow out.
* 1/4" hose (Hoses vary in length from 3’ to 5’)
The waterer and hose attachment are 24 inches high. The diameter of the waterer is 14 inches. You need a minimum of 3 feet in your pen to hang these so they will work for you. It is best to have the base of the waterers at about the height of the chicken's back to keep the water clean.
This waterer is great because you can use the tube (which comes with the waterer) and install it in to any size barrel (you just drill a hole and stick in the tube.) The part that regulates and maintains the water is part of the devise and is easy to adjust. No additional parts are needed. These waterers are gravity fed, so you do have to have the barrel a little higher than the feeder, but that isn't hard to do. These waterers really save time. I would also like to suggest you use apple cider vinegar (1 tsp. to one gallon of water) in your water as it is great for the chicken's digestive system and keeps the water barrel clean.
