I have owned this HT for only a few monthes. I am selling because my WIFE decided that it was time to sell a few. The speaker has 700 mW of volume,Easy to hear at a crowded HamFest or in your Vehicle. The 16-key VX-170 includes direct keyboard frequency entry and direct DTMF input. The HT is Submersible! 30 minuates at a depth of 3 Feet. The receiver's frequency range is 137-174 MHz for those that like to monitor Police,EMS and Rescue. You can even engage a password that you key in prior to operation. You can enter the frequency you want by keyboard and recall a channel by using the key board. It has a special memory bank of ten NOAA Weather Channels and is available, with a "Severe Weather" alert. Besides the usual CTCSS and DCS Encode/Decode features you get a "Split Tone" capability that allows you to Encode a CTCSS tone, and Decode DCS, or vice-versa. You can also Encode (without decoding) either CTCSS or DCS. The following items are included: 2.FNB-83 7.2V 1400mAh battery that charges above 1900mAh 3.
