Made of flame retardant flax canvas, this blanket has a working temperature of 1000 degrees and provides a thermal barrier from welding sparks and splatter. The compact 5 foot x 5 foot size means you can use it almost anywhere without sacrificing protection. This is the blanket I use in my own shop. This blanket can also serve as a welding curtain. Zinc plated grommets are installed on each side at 12" intervals. The grommets make it easy to hang it up to protect the inevitable spectators as well as your four-footed friends from harmful welding rays. All welding blankets are subject to burn through from molten slag/metal. Direct contact with extreme temperature and flame may result in fire. This blanket is intended to provide partial protection during light duty welding and grinding jobs. Do not weld directly on top of the blanket.
