Open-frame unit for mounting in a panel type enclosure. Adjustment of 'Ramp Time' 'Pedestal Voltage'and 'current limit' via potentiometers P1, P2 & P3 mounted on circuit board. The control terminals S1/S2 enable electronic control of the motor. Unit can be wired permanently to a three phase supply and the soft-start initiated by linking contacts S1 and S2. This can be done either via a switch or via a relay which may be the relay output of a PLC, BUT it must be a 'volt free' contact. Alternatively S1 and S2 can be left permanently connected and the softstart and motor switched on by switching power to the softstart. For example where a motor is already fitted and switched via a control unit or a set of contactors the softstart can be added between the control gear and motor without any further alteration to the control system.
