This item is a 26 page booklet extolling the virtues of the Walter H. Candler study-at-home telegraph course. It is mostly testamonial after testamonial from satisfied graduates who went from 15 wpm to 60 wpm in short order, who then landed great paying jobs and got the girl too! There's a wonderful bio on Walter H. Candler and the scientific methods he employed coming up with his teaching methods. Wonderful period piece from the depths of the Great Depression. Lots of pictures of graduates operating early radio equipment. The centerpiece features a testamonial from the most famous Candler Graduate: Theodore R. McElroy, who later made the famous keys and bugs. (see photos). Included with the booklet is an application for the course, and an addressed envelope. Also included is a letter from Walter H. Candler himself, dated July 28, 1932 offering a discount on the price of the course if students enrolled before August 16, 1932. It's signed by Mr. Candler but I can't tell if it's an actual signature or a stamp. I tend to favor it being a stamp (see close-up photo). Wonderful Americana and a historic period piece!
