This is a vane pump off a 1954 NAA Ford tractor. I'm switching the tractor over to a piston pump. This was not working when pulled which could be because it was sitting so long, although it does have issues. I took it apart and was considering rebuilding it but its a basket case in my opinion. Here is the issues that I found ( may or may not be all of them): - The screw that turns the key is broke off in the drive shaft - The gear drive wobbles on the drive shaft (this can be repaired by adding metal and machining off, and machining the drive gear) - The larger bearing on the drive shaft needs replaced - The vanes are all there, and they look okay. Supposedly they are in working order (unknown ) .75" width - The cast by the gear drive is missing a chunk but is functional - I think one of the O-rings of the vane pump was lost during the tear down The adjustment part of the pump does not appear as if anything is wrong with it The key turns freely, there were no bearings that I could tell, this is just a greased part and excellent condition. (very hard to come by) Okay, now after all that, why am I selling it? Anymore these are relatively rare and someone may want it for rebuilding. (please look at our rules and privacy policy) |
