This size may be used on some of the smaller duck hens as well. MEDIUM SADDLES are for medium, heavier bodied hens (5-7 lbs.) You may like these for your marans, cochins, langshans, welsumers, rhode island reds, dominiques, most of the rock breeds, and ameraucanas/ araucanas as well. LARGE SADDLES are for large, heavier bodied hens (7.5 - 8+ lbs.), You may like these for your extra large type breeds such as: brahmas, australorps, orpingtons, croad Langshans, black giants, etc. A - only for the Smaller bantams, 7 - 10oz or less. i.e. - O.E., Japanese. B - perfect for bantams that are 1 - 1.5 lbs. moderns or even cornish. C - perfect for the larger bantams that are 2 - 2.5 lbs, cochins. They are made of heavy durable cloth, like duck cloth, have a rope like material sewen on for good gripping & straddling. This helps to reduce slipping off the hens back.
