Japanese Kiridashi (Marking knife). In researching these knives I chanced upon a site from Germany who market these as carving tools, and indeed they would be very useful for a carver;but; they are Kiridashi really. I have a range of sizes here and they all are between 140mm and 180mm long; getting longer as they get wider. Made from laminated low & high carbon steel, the larger sizes have a hollow scoop in the blade to make sharpening easier.Really just a sharpened piece of laminated steel for marking or cutting as a knife would. Make your own handle if you like. (please look at our rules and privacy policy) |
