6+ Fertile Chicken Hatching Eggs The hens in this mixed flock are at the peak of their fertility. The eggs have been hatching out at about a 90% rate and have produced healthy, vigorous, chicks. The chicks you hatch will be a beautiful mulit-function addition to your farm, as 'lawn ornaments', natural insect control, egg and meat providers, or just simple entertainment. Most of the chicks hatch with feathered shanks and feet in a myriad of colors, such as black, yellow, red, and gray. As adults the hens will start to lay brown (and sometimes blue-green) eggs at about 4 1/2 months. The cockerels grow up to be big, beautiful, and fluffy and will weigh about 9 lbs. at maturity.
