Here's an original vintage Vibroplex telegraph key, No. 110641. The patents listed on this piece were issued between 1902 & 1923. I was told this was made in 1937 but I'm not an expert on these. It has a brass plate with a crisply detailed lightning bug in raised relief that says "THE VIBROPLEX CO Trade Mark. NO. 110641 U.S. Parents 763303, 812813, 1042457, 1043449, 1260008, & 1446226. VIBROPLEX CO. INC. 796 Fulton St., Brooklyn , N.Y.". There is a cord attached that has a brass 'clip' also marked; "Vibroplex" & the address. (see close up picture) There are 3 thick black rubber "feet" on the bottom. I don't know anything at all about telegraph keys so I've included lots of photographs which I hope will show you everything you want to see. The black marble? base has several tiny edge chips but no cracks. This needs a good cleaning also. Please view my pictures to better determine the exact condition to your own satisfaction. I tried to vary my lighting and angles to give you a good idea as to actual tone & condition. Please ask questions early. Selling as you see it with no reserve. Please look at my other items for sale! I'm told this may be a Vibroplex Junior Key. If so, it may be kind of rare. You will have to be the judge. Good Luck.... oldpyz (please look at our rules and privacy policy) |
