ANTIQUE JOHN DEERE JD FARM WRENCH #39
WE have acquired a wonderful group of antique wrenches and other old tools that were part of a local man's amazing collection.
This is a prime example of what we found - a curved multi-functional wrench meant to fit four different nuts or parts of John Deere farm equipment. We have tagged it as No. 39 in our inventory at the Pocono antiques mall.
The tool is 8½ inches long and fits square nuts ranging from three-eighths of an inch to seven-eighths. It appears to have been cut from thick sheet steel.
MAKER/MARKINGS: Stamped monogram "JD-51."
AGE/PATENT: Begun in 1837, the company was finally incorporated as Deere & Co. in 1868. This wrench dates from the early days, but if anyone has a better idea of the significance of "JD-51" we'd love to hear!
CONDITION: Excellent, with nice old patina and very little wear!
Domestic postage adds $4.50. Sorry, no international sales.
Pennsylvania residents, please add 6 percent sales tax.
