This radio was purchased new and has not been used all that much. It looks good and all the functions work good. The retail value is around $100. It can operate on 4 size D batteries (not included) and has a reputation for long life with the batteries. It can also operate with an AC adaper (not included). The adapter has been misplaced, but I never did use it because of the long battery life. The batteries have been taken out, but I do not believe I ever had to replace them.
