The AVO Valve Characteristic Meter Type V.C.M 163 is a professional grade test instrument capable of the following measurements 2. Insulation between electrodes (hot and cold) 3. Cathode/heater insulation (for indirectly heated valves) 4. Rapidly indicate whether a valve is good or bad using coloured scale base on mutual conductance 5. Measure mutual conductance (both grid to anode and grid to screen) 7. Check rectifiers under load This unit is ideal for matching pairs of valves(tubes) used in audio amplifiers. It can be operated from 110V, 120V or 200-240V supplies, 50 or 60Hz This instrument is in excellent condition. There are a few scratches on the carry handles and and a missing plastic insert on the bottom left knob . It is fully functional to the best of my knowledge, both meters are working and the various test modes are functioning as documented in the tests I carried out on a 6AH4 triode A electronic copy (scanned in PDF format) of the AVO Operating Instructions, Valve Data and Service Manuals is included on CD.
