Here's a fun PURE BRED assortment of eggs from my various breeds.
Fresh to you from Buc-A-Buc Farm!©2007
"1 Lawn Chair + 1 Flock of Chickens = Bliss"
I don't know who originally said this, but it sure is true. There is just nothing like sitting in your yard and watching your chickens. Need to de-stress??? Grab a lawn chair and go watch your chickens!!!
From my Buff Orpingtons: This is DeColores w/ some of last year's brood. They were hatched the day before the picture was taken. Can you say CUTE??? Oh my. There is just nothing like a fat and fluffy little chick to brighten your day. I bet you feel better already!
~PLEASE VIEW MORE OF MY PICTURES BELOW OF THE DIFFERENT BREEDS AVAILABLE~
PICK FOUR EGGS FROM AMOUNG MY SIX DIFFERENT BREEDS FOR YOUR MINI INCUBATOR OR BROODY HEN!!!
Do you hear something? You Will!!!
· Buff Orpingtons: Spun Gold. These chickens are extremely gentle, tame and truly beautiful. Mama hens DeColores, Delores, Buffy, and Muffy, and of course the king of my barnyard "The Buffer." You will also receive eggs from our young hens Betty, Millie, Tillie, Maude, Emmy, and Norma. Norma is named after the wonderful postal lady who handles our egg boxes with such TLC at the local post office. Btw, Millie, Tillie, Maude, Emmy, and Norma are DeColores and Delores' chicks and some of the sweet little babies you see peeking out at you in the picture above! Yes, 6 mos. old and LAYING! They are every bit as sweet as their Mama's and I'm sure will be raising broods of their own in the spring. My Buff Orpingtons are just plain adorable both to look at and to interact with. If you want chickens that will be literally under your feet when you walk outside, these are the ones for you. Their pictures do not do them justice. Buff Orpingtons lay nice light to dark brown eggs and are large birds (males-10 lbs, hens-8 lbs.) with a wonderfully quiet disposition. They have heavy, full plumage and are excellent winter layers. Their chicks hatch out yellow and are round and plump. I have 4 roosters and 10 hens.
· Golden Campines: According to the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy (ALBC) the Golden Campine's status is listed as "Critical." This means there are fewer then five hundred breeding birds and five or fewer primary breeding flocks in North America. This is hard to understand as these chickens are awesome egg layers, absolutely (and uniquely) BEAUTIFUL, and especially fun to watch. Their chicks hatch out wonderfully colorful. Their standard weights at maturity are males-6 lbs. and hens-4 lbs. Please see my pictures below of our Golden Campine's Lucy and Ricky. Besides Lucy we have 4 other pullets.
· BUFF Silkies: Fuzzy little golden fluff balls! Unbelievably cute and personable. All together now..., "Awwwwwwww....." Guaranteed to make you smile! Silkies have soft, fluffy, silkie feathers and lay small, light tinted eggs. Their standard weights at maturity are males-36 ounces, and hens-32 ounces. It's surprising when you pick them up to find they are mostly feathers! Silkies make incredibly sweet pets and mama hens and will set on anything that comes close to resembling an egg. I have 6 Silkie hens and one Silkie Rooster.
· Standard (Large Fowl) Partridge Cochins
· Standard (Large Fowl) Silver Laced Cochins: Goodness, gracious, Great Balls O' Fluffiness! Can you say "Absolutely GORGEOUS?" And soooo sweet. These large (males 11 lbs, females 8 1/2 lbs) chickens just began laying last summer. Cochins are the most docile of all breeds. They are so very friendly and make lovely pets. They have great personalities and are just a hoot to have around. I've found them to have a really curious nature, and they often get in my way when I'm trying to work outside. They love to "talk" to me and seem fairly put out if I don't show up with some sort of goody for them. Btw, my Partridge rooster won best of breed recently at our county fair. The color on this rooster is nothing short of brilliant. Speaking of color, my Silver Laced Cochins are equally beautiful, with their color being fairly rare and definitely in demand. I will be posting their eggs separately in the spring. According to the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy (ALBC) the Cochin's status is listed as "Watch." This means there are fewer then five thousand breeding birds and ten or fewer primary breeding flocks in North America. Cochins lay medium size light to dark brown eggs. I have 7 Silver Laced Cochin pullets with one rooster, and 8 Partridge Cochin hens with 2 roosters.
Folks, these aren't just any old barnyard chickens! These are my babies! These chickens are wonderfully tame and beautiful and very much loved and taken care off. ALL of my chickens are very healthy (check out my pictures) and are NPIP certified negative of disease INCLUDING Avian Flu. Most of my breeds make great Mama hens, setting readily and lovingly raising their brood. Too cute to believe. These are the sweetest, most lovey chickens you have ever seen. They are WONDERFUL for children. Great for home school or class room science hatching projects.
PLEASE NOTE: Silkies are BANTAM chickens and about half the size (if you count their fluff) as my other chickens. It is surprising when you pick them up how small they actually are. They look much bigger w/ those fluffy feathers! Also, my Silkies do not free range. They are little balls of fluff, so very docile and trusting of everything, I keep them penned in large yards to protect them from predators and also so their eggs will be pure bred. They are fed the same as my other chickens. They are placed several times a week into a movable "play pen" so they can forage a bit and graze. These chickens are extremely tame and think they are people!

· Mini-Incubator Egg Sale: (Chickens4Lu), I am happy to let you know that we have three healthy chicks. We have two caramel color chicks from brown eggs and one yellow chick from a white egg. I am a teacher and would like to hatch another batch next spring for my class. Would you be willing to sell me eggs in the spring? I can't tell how much it has meant to me to know that you were just a note away. Thanks for everything. (2mand2m)
· (Chickens4Lu), I have only seen such pretty eggs on Martha Stewart's show. I have never seen blue eggs. They are all really beautiful. We are all so excited." (Kim Tormey)
· (Chickens4Lu), thanks so much AGAIN. I picked up the eggs from the post office and was amazed at how well you packed them. My last eggs were in a box, no bubble wrap, and about 3 foam peanuts. I am so excited to see our babies hatch. I can tell you take great pride and pleasure in what you do. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again! (Jneill1972)
· (Chickens4Lu), the eggs arrived this morning, in excellent shape. The Post Office called & we picked up....even though our weather is fine now.....we were anxious & couldn't wait until the carrier delivered later. That's a nice assortment you sent, and again, your packaging is absolutely excellent. Thanks so much. (barnacle-bob)
Here are a few pictures of my chickens. Not everyone is shown, but all of my breeds are represented. Folks, these are pictures of my chickens. Their pictures are my property and not to be used without express WRITTEN permission from me. Thanks!
Some of my Partridge Cochins. I took this photo moments before it started raining w/ my little 2.0 camera. I will have to get a picture of these birds in the sunlight so you can really see how colorful they are. My cochins lay nice brown eggs and are the largest of all my chickens. They make WONDERFUL pets and are extremely friendly and good natured.
A picture of Pollo, one of our Partridge Cochin Cockerels. Picture taken this January 2007.
Some of my Silver Laced Cochins. These birds are still very young in this picture (taken last August) and had not gained their full adult plumage. Even so, don't you agree they are just GORGEOUS???!!!!
Here is another more recent picture of some of my Silver Laced Cochins. They are not all that thrilled Mama took them out of their warm house and plopped in the snow just to take another picture! (They were well compensated with a handful of raisens and have since forgiven me.)
Less then 2 day old Silver Laced Chick. I took this picture just a few days ago. No here is nothing wrong w/ his leg. He is just walking out of the picture! Please do note the wonderful foot feathering!
The Buffer our Buff Orpington Roo with some of his Buff Orpington hens (including Pearl our pet Leghorn).
Golden Campines. Lucy and Ricky. I wish you could see the true COLOR on these beautiful chickens. They practically SPARKLE! Lucy is joined by 4 other pullets.
My Buff Silkie fluff balls. They look like fluffy little stuffed animals!
Introducing Captain Jack. Jack is a beautiful, young, show quality Ameraucana rooster whom we were fortunate enough to purchase from the big ABA-APA Joint National Poultry Show "America's National" last November. We are looking forward to hatching some of his chicks this year.
Hey, wait a minute... THOSE aren't chickens! LOL! O.k. SOME of them are. The chicks above are from an assorted hatch of mine last year. The bunnies (the one's with OUT the feather's) are my daughters.

And since you've already read SO MUCH and let all those pictures load for SO LONG.... here's a little more fun:
Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?
Kirk: To boldly go where no chicken had gone before.
Scotty: Because she couldna take much morrrrrre.
Bones: I'm a doctor, not an ornithologist!
Uhura: Shall I open hailing frequencies so you can ask it, sir?
Chekov: It must have been on its way to assist in saving my life for the billionth time... did I scream again?
Khan: With my last breath I spit at the chicken...
