Medium duty chuck has semi-steel body and hard solid revesible jaws (36" has two-piece hard reversible jaws). Heavy duty has steel body and two-piece hard revesible jaws. Solid jaws are made of high quality carbon steel and hardened. Hard Top and Hard Master Jaws are made of high quality alloy steel, hardened & ground.
